How do you feel about Mothers Day?

๐Ÿ’Mother's day was always one of favorite days growing up. I would wake up early, make breakfast in bed for Mama and get all of my siblings up to make sure that we all had a card for her. ๐Ÿ’— Then when I had my own family I tried to continue the tradition for myself.๐Ÿ˜‰  My adorable children and sweet husband get up, make me breakfast and want me to have breakfast in bed, but I would usually like to have it at the table with them, just like Mama did. ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ’”Then our sweet Samuel went to heaven and my heart was broken. We made some new traditions and spent sweet time together.

๐Ÿ’ My first mother's day without Samuel our family went to Highlands and enjoyed the outdoors for the weekend. Missing Samuel was so heavy on my heart that Tim and the children surrounded me and made us a special meal and then they gave me a pedicure while we watched a movie together at the house. It was so precious but I wept the whole time. I'm so thankful for Tim, Gracie, Annaleigh and Micah.

๐Ÿ’Over the years it is exhausting to miss Samuel so much. The Lord encouraged me through His Word and teaching to give. It's my joy now to not have all the expectations for myself (even though I do love breakfast made for me and sweet cards๐Ÿ˜), but I have learned it is better to focus on giving instead. Last year I had my mother in love over for brunch and then my mama over for supper. It was such a sweet time in our new home, loving our mamas.

๐Ÿ’This year I do not have my mama here. She is where we all want to be and I try to focus on that. She was a bright shining light to all who knew her. My heart hurts from losing her. I miss her terribly. But I must press on and find ways to give so that I'm not "wallering"in my misery. I will and do grieve, but also don't need to stay there. She and Daddy also taught us to serve and have a ministry, so I want to honor her by this.

๐Ÿ’I challenge you to also think of a gift you can bless someone with...write a kind note, have someone for a meal or give someone a call. I promise it is more" blessed to give that to receive! " Acts 20:35 ๐Ÿ’—

๐Ÿ’As Mother’s Day approaches, I want you all to know that you are in my prayers.I know that so many are wanting a child and cannot have one, have miscarried and feel that great emptiness, have lost touch with their child or mom and suffer in that pain, or have buried your child and ache as you miss them terribly. Or maybe you are just struggling with the daily chores of motherhood or your children don't need you anymore because they are growing up and you are struggling. You are not alone and you are loved by a Heavenly Father that sees you and hears your cries. He is the only way we have peace.

๐ŸŒทThis year enjoy your Mother’s Day by placing your joy in the Lord, rest in His arms, and the peace that only He can provide. And try to GIVE in some way, I know it will bless others but Also bless you and ultimately honor the Lord. ๐Ÿ’

๐ŸŒบ1 Peter 4:10, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."
