What if your blessings come through raindrops?

This song called ”Blessings” is such a powerful lesson.  Most people think life should be good. The ”blessing” is smooth days, health and to be financially secure.
But,
” We pray for blessings, We pray for peace, Comfort for family, protection while we sleep. We pray for healing, for prosperity. We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering .All the while, You hear each spoken need, Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things.

'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops? What if Your healing comes through tears ?What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near ?What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise.

We pray for wisdom, Your voice to hear. We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near. We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love . As if every promise from Your Word is not enough. All the while, You hear each desperate plea, And long that we'd have faith to believe.

When friends betray us, When darkness seems to win, We know that pain reminds this heart That this is not our home.

What if my greatest disappointments, Or the aching of this life , Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy. What if trials of this life... The rain, the storms, the hardest nights Are your mercies in disguise.”

As far as my life goes, even though it is hard. Even though I never expected to have a child with special needs... God knew that we needed him and he needed us. For without the trials and the learning to seek God through the pain, we may not know our desperate need for Him.
” The only way to learn a strong faith is to endure great trials. We learn by standing firm amid the most severe of tests.” -George Mueller

Isaiah 41:10
” Don't be afraid, because I am your God. I will make you strong and help you; I will support you with my right hand that saves you.”

Thankful for His promises.

P.s. Alisa, I love my book!  There is a devotional by the same title and author that is wonderful.

"Yet He loves us way too much to give us lesser things." Thanks for that reminder today. I needed it. Love you sweet and precious friend of mine!

Every time I hear that song I think of you and Samuel and it makes me cry. But he is the greatest blessing in my life, and I am so thankful for him and for you. Through the last seven years I can look back and see how the Lord has used Samuel and you to mold me and draw me closer to Him. I love you.
